Your area psychological assn (mine is Western P.A.) every spring has workshops on
refreshing one's instructional life. The WPA's workshop on TOP is called the Louis
Terman and while I haven't been able to make it every year, it is always
inspiring. The overall WPA conference of course, has other workshops helpful to
instructors and then one is able to immediately access the stars like Phil Zimbardo,
Dave Myers, etc. as to how they present _____________ any topic.
New technology presents incredible opportunities such as Carole Wade, author of our
text book, speaking to my students through video conference equipment , thanks to
courtesy Dr. Wade and that of Marin Community College tech staff (ask for Bruce)
(especially since Dr. Wade is with a college nearby to Marin CC, not Marin itself).
Spence Rathus had a computer Q&A with my students and we prepared for the "chat" by
previewing upcoming chapters in the Rathus text. Students were really charged and
impressed about accessibility of such authors, etc.
I'm learning to use the "White Board" which will connect students to the Net right
in class, don't know how it will work out yet, but it is exciting to experiment
