TIPS colleagues,

I received several comments on the order of:

>... what is the PKAL workshop? How do I locate
>material from it?
>

I suggest you look at: http://www.pkal.org/curricul/keystone/a1-index.html

This contains the guide to the first workshop on curriculum. The
second workshop was on the content and structure of the intro course.

I suspect there will be another pair of psychology workshops this
summer, though I am not sure about topic.

PKAL is a science education reform organization that has funding from
NSF and a range of other folks. For the past decade, they have spent
most of their resources on physics, math, chem, and bio. But Psych
is a new emphasis area.

I highly recommend PKAL and its workshops. They have benefited our
program at St. Olaf greatly, both in neuroscience (a new area for us)
and in regular psychology curriculum reform.
