The computer version may be a different story, but with the paper and pencil
version, the information provided by Stephen Black is on target, and does
suggest that "guessing" cannot, on average, hurt, and could be quite
beneficial, to the examinee, if not to the test manufacturer who is doing
psychometric work on the responses to the test.
