Two things I did that helped really boost my score.
    Re-read a good intro book.  With other responsibilities, this took a semester.
    Skimmed a good history & systems text.  This was done over lunch, between the
general GRE and the psyc GRE.

I would say that the time spent with the history & systems text helped more than
the time spent with the intro text--but that might not be true for everyone.
