Only if it is okay to be offensive and derogatory.  I would agree that the author's
justification for including these terms in a study guide is pretty weak.  It is very
surprising that a publishing company would let this get by.  They tend to be very
careful in not being offensive, even with worthwhile material (e.g., evolution).
