is there birth order bias?

I may be wrong but it appears that the info I have about the supposedly
birth order effect is biased towards males for example the space
astronauts and the achievement data. Take the example that if the eldest
is a female,she is in an ideal position to be a surrogate mom for the
others.How critical is the gender birth order interaction?
