So far the Eurocentric hegemony prevails on recent Tips posts.Apparently no one
followed my posts about the African and Afrocentric contributions to
Psychology and did not subject a list of relevant related topics to be
discuss4d in class during this
Black History month. I am dispatching e-mails to all Psychology department
heads to remind faculty that in this age of the diversity in the classroom some
mention of ethnic contributions to the field would be appropriate. If we are
cognizant of making allowances for Christian,Moslem, and Jewish students,we
certainly can take some time to discuss the emerging field of Black Psychology.
I wonder if tipsters know who was the first African-American President of the
APA
and why his classic work is the only Psychology research that led to a major
landmark national legislation.
