I suspect the original post was inspired by NPRs interview with a geologist 
commenting on Darwin's notes on a chilean earthquake in 1822. This is a link to 
some of the comments I heard on NPR (believe there is more ... but this is all 
that a quick search brought up)

Obviously this is to do with the recent major earthquake near 
Concepcion, but I meant, what is it about Darwin's theory that they are 
discussing? -- other than the obvious (and understandable) fact that 
his theory about the formation of the Andes was wrong, as he knew 
nothing about plate tectonics.
