Yes, but some of us old fashioned folks still teach in real classrooms.

I used to like chalkboards. Now I carry around my own box of markers and I like 
the whiteboard. I project my ppts onto the whiteboard and then I can scribble 
all over them. I don't want whatever I have preplanned to go onto my slides to 
be the be-all and end-all of what I have to transmit. And I don't think doing 
it  verbally is always best.

I especially use the whiteboard this way when teaching the biopsych stuff in 
intro. I scribble all over brain diagrams drawing in parts and naming them, etc.
