I use the OPL but you cannot modify those programs to the best of my knowledge. I do have students add a variable, such as participant variables, or ambient variables, such as noise, lighting, time of day, etc.
I also let students design studies with powerpoint, but then you can only get accuracy and not RTs. I have yet to find a program that is relatively easy to program and use, for students.
