As someone who has spent sometime in a Catholic seminary and also in a Trappist monastery,I can understand the church's stand but this should only apply to practicing homosexuals. After all there is a celibacy vow which should mean not only abstinence from heterosexual relations but also from homosexual encounters.A person's past behavior should have no bearing on ascsnding ad altare dei. After all God,Allah,Jah,Allah desires not the death of a sinner but that he/she should be converted and live. Read some of the history of the saints latelY? St.Augustine?Btw,will tey be scrutinizind women going into the convent?
