We have recently revised our psychology curriculum and added an honors
major. One of its requirements is a two semester sequence in which the
first semester is devoted to learning more about independent research,
doing a serious literature review and designing an independent study.
The second semester will involve carrying out the study, writing it up
and presenting it publicly. I'd appreciate suggestions for texts and
readings for the first semester seminar. All students will have taken
experimental psychology and carried out either some classical
experiments or a simple one of their own.
