Hi Larry: What is this advisory board supposed to do?
We have a strategic planning committee; which is supposed to plan for changes in the future. We have a curriculum committee; which is supposed to plan for modifications in the current curriculum and future curricula. We have committees which evaluate progress towards tenure, choice of textbooks, space-use, psi chi, graduate student issues, and so on. All have concrete charges.
But I am unclear as to the goal of an "advisory committee." Is the advice going to the chair or department or college?
