Even if they did improve on the Stroop  test, you would have to have another 
dependent variable (at least one) to ascertain that you were improving memory 
(or any aspect of cognition) rather than merely improving performance on the 
Stroop test.

  You are referring to the transfer of learning here.I assume that any increase 
in managing life skills such as normal household responsibilitiss could be 
considered
  significant.It is possible that training in one task could impact other 
tasks.After all transfer of training is more than going from one stroop test to 
another stroop test.The crutical element,it seems to me,is to strenghen 
"attention" and to "self-correct".and this a worthy cognitive and life skill 
objective.
