Since this is Hispanic Heritage Month,I will be posting on issues in Latin
America. There is hope that the unique development of Copper-centric psychology
will continue in the Americas.Harvard educated
Rafael Correa survived an attempted coup and wiii remain the el presidente of
Ecuador. Correa,Evo Morales of Bolivia, and Chavez of the Bolivarian Republic of
Venezuela are in the forefront of emphasizing the need to integrate the
indigenous people and to give
them a greater say in policies in governing their respective countries.
They have formulated policies that include educational and social
paradigms of the indigenous and other minorities. The term Copper centric was
really a brain child of the Humala family dynasty in Peru
who first that prominence should be given to the indigenous descendants in
matters of health,education,and economic policies.
Emphasis on inheritance has led Chavez to assert that he is of indigenous and
African descent and has actually formed an alliance with those groups.Ecuador
is the only country in South America that has noticeably black folks on their
world soccer team.
To be continued.
