Susan Reverby, who previously has written on the Tuskegee
syphilis study, reports on research conducted in the 1940s
in Guatemala where U.S. medical researchers infected people
with gonorrhea and syphillis without their knowledge or permission.
Today (Friday, Oct 1, 2010), Secretary of State Hillary Clinton
and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sevelious apologized
for the actions of the U.S. Public Health Service.  MSNBC
