I recommend Zimbardo's 2008 TED talk:
http://www.ted.com/index.php/talks/philip_zimbardo_on_the_psychology_of_
evil.html

He covers the Stanford Prison Study and Milgram's obedience studies
while tying them to current events.

Since it's only 23 minutes, it might be interesting to pair it with
Daniel Goleman's TED talk (13 minutes) on compassion:
http://www.ted.com/index.php/talks/daniel_goleman_on_compassion.html
<http://www.ted.com/index.php/talks/daniel_goleman_on_compassion.html>

Or Martin Seligman's TED talk (23 minutes) on positive psychology:
http://www.ted.com/index.php/talks/martin_seligman_on_the_state_of_psych
ology.html
<http://www.ted.com/index.php/talks/martin_seligman_on_the_state_of_psyc
hology.html> .

Hi folks - I have been unexpectedly taken away from a 50 minute
class this week, and would like to have the students watch something
psychology-related. This is a general first-year student College Seminar
in which we've been working our way through Hock's Forty Studies that
Changed Psychology book.

        Thanks for any suggestions!

        Patrick
