I personally have never experienced a tornado, but I am struck (no pun intended) by the amount of people who comment that it sounds like a "freight train" and not just a train. It would seem that there is a consensus of agreement on this. However,it would appear that one needs to have rail experience to make this evaluation. So what about cyclones that occur in the Pacific and Indian oceans' areas? What do thgey sound like? As the cross-cultural dude on Tips, there is a readiness to assume consensus of agreement in U.S culture without a meticulous examination of the variables. For example, there is a penchant for Americans to say "it tastes like chicken" when unfamiliar with certain meats. However, they can not seem to figure out the tastes of mangoes and plantains. How about mangoes taste like mangoes and plantains taste like plantains.
