Yes, it time to end tenure in Utah, or so a state rep claims in his bill.
There are several versions of the story, here's one on Bloomberg.com

So, is it just a matter of time before tenure for state colleges and
universities is ended in some/most/all states?  After all, there are all
these new Ph.D.s that can be hired at an assistant prof's salary level
which supposedly would replace the "unproductive deadwood" that
has accumulated at the associate and full professor levels?  The
"superstar" professors will always justify their position by earning
several times their yearly salary in indirect costs from the grants
they get.

Anyone think that it can't happen?
