Similar to Beth's idea and related to another person's suggestion of using Ted
talks, there is a great recent Ted talk on this. Your friend can just google
her way there or can access them via iTunes.

Thinking, Language, and Intelligence. My friend just found out yesterday and
she will probably focus on the Language part of the trio. I'm sure there are
good video clips of children learning language and other appealing aspects of
the topic. Once again, if you have a favorite, please share and I will pass it
on.

Thanks to everyone who offered helpful comments, particularly the suggestion of
developing the mindset of an entertainer. I know with that many students in the
class, you need to have high energy to get through it. Getting the students
involved was also a good idea, and I've done it with a class of 150 by having
them stand up or sit down in response to certain questions (the movement kept
them awake at 9 am), but I'm not sure if that would work with 300.

Thanks again,
