I would also like to point out the the Sept. 2010 meta-analysis by the
Department of Education found that students in online classes did
"modestly better" than students in face-to-face classes. The research
literature has shown no significant difference in the two delivery
modes.

I suspect there is as much variability in face-to-face classes and
sections as there is in some online classes. I don't think the delivery
mode should be the issue.
