Hi all,

As someone who lives in Christchurch, New Zealand, there have been a few times
in the last six months when I would have been happy to fend off zombies. At
least you can see them coming...on the other hand, the 'quakes and aftershocks
have provided some very good discussion points in my social psyc and motivation
classes. The students *really* pay attention; lots of personal investment.

The CDC campaign is a good one, and the bottom-line message is sound: Put your
kit together and make sure your family has a disaster plan. Keep in mind that
there's a good chance that you won't be together when disaster hits -- everyone
needs to know how to get back in touch. Also, if you're in an earthquake zone,
keep a pair of hard-soled shoes beside your bed. Cut feet are a major injury
after earthquakes. Keep your cell phone charged and nearby.

And good on you, Annette, for having a kit already. They work.

Kia kaha, everyone.
