Subject: [tips] Where Have I Heard This before?
There's an article in the LA Times about the failure of
colleges and universities to prepare students for dealing
with the real world especially in a bad economy that is
likely to last years. There are two authors to the article,
of which is an NYU faculty person that I do not know.
See:

Bottom Line: it appears that authors have the fanciful idea
that college/university should be for teaching and learning
instead of grant getting and keeping the students happy.

Based on Mike P conclusion.I would say that the authors are
correct.Education is basically for learning. The idea that it should be a
pre-requisite for certan careers are institutional driven with the
collaboration of the career paradigm,
Even in a bad economy as ours, one should be intelligrnt enough to follow the
advice of the Rolling Stones YOU CAN'T
ALWAYS GET WHAT YOU WANT.
