Subject: [tips] First,second,and third authors

It is common to assume that in an article written by multiple authors the
first author is the lead person and is credited for propeling the research
while the second and third authors play subsidiary roles.I can see equitable
contributory roles in the case of two authors, but where it involves three and
four authors one can wonder what exactly did author number four do.Is an
honorable mention considered in tenure considerations?
