What I find so intriguing about your comment Nancy is that this reality should be so obvious to us all due to decades of research that have revealed what an amazingly adaptable (i.e. plastic) brain we have that is constantly modifying it's structure and chemistry to effectively deal with constantly changing circumstances and challenges. Why do we seem to need to learn this over and over again? There are a good number of studies conducted by researchers on how changes in our cognition's and behaviors change our brain chemistry and brain interconnections. What amazing possibilities such implies. However, sadly it appears that, to the contrary, the hard-wired perspective seems easier for the public as well as many folks in our field to latch on to.
