TENURE-TRACK ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF PSYCHOLOGY POSITION
The Psychology Department at Fairfield University invites applications for a 
tenure-track assistant professor position beginning Fall 2012.  We seek a 
cognitive or behavioral neuropsychologist with research interests in 
neuropsychological assessment and higher order functioning of the brain. 
Preference will be given to candidates with teaching interests in lifespan 
issues in neuropsychology.  Applicants must have a strong commitment to 
excellence in undergraduate teaching and the potential for developing an active 
research program in their area of specialization that involves undergraduates. 
Applicants are expected to have completed a Ph.D. in Psychology or related 
field and ABD's who expect their degree by Fall 2012 will also be considered. 
Applicants with a degree in clinical or cognitive neuropsychology, or in 
cognitive, developmental, or school psychology with relevant research and 
teaching interests are especially encouraged to apply.

The teaching load is three undergraduate courses each semester. Courses taught 
would include Human Neuropsychology, Cognitive Psychology, and Developmental 
Psychology, as well as courses in the candidate’s area of specialization. 
Courses might also include Tests and Measurements, Research Methods,  Sensation 
& Perception, and General Psychology.

The department consists of nine full-time faculty representing a range of 
specialties and is housed in a spacious, well-equipped facility in the Bannow 
Science Center.  Our department offers a B.A. degree as well as a B.S. degree 
in psychology.  Fairfield University is a Jesuit institution and is 
consistently ranked as a top comprehensive university in New England and is 
located in the scenic shoreline community of Fairfield, CT, one hour from New 
York City along Long Island Sound. Our six Colleges and Professional Schools 
enroll approximately 3500 undergraduate and 1200 graduate students. Review of
