FYI: in my latest episode I cover test reliability. In particular: test/re-test, alternate form and split/half. I used Marianne Miserandino's fun article on the "Ice Cream personality test":
Miserandino, M. (2006). "I Scream, You Scream: Teaching Validity and Reliability Via the Ice Cream Personality Test." Teaching Psychology. 33(4), 265-68. Also, I used an interesting non-psychology test called the Distorted Tunes test created by the National institute on deafness and Other Communication Disorders: http://www.nidcd.nih.gov/tunetest/Pages/Default.aspx I think this test makes a good starting point to discuss testing because despite the fact that it wasn't created by psychologists, it measures an ability that resides somewhere in the brain and I think students can without too much trouble apply the ideas of reliability and validity to this test. After discussing the Distorted Tunes test you can move over to more established psychological tests (I used a test on achievement motivation). I decided to cover reliability and validity in separate videos.
