The news that Prince Phillip had to be hospitalized during the Golden jubilee celebration seem to be in line with the "exhaustion" stage of Selye's idea of the three stages of stress-the other two are alarm and resistance.Obviously stress can also be brought about by jubilant activities.However her Majesty seem to cope gracefully with the events,but her husband finally succumbed to the overwhelming stress.Btw,could this be construed that women cope more successfully under stress?
