APA's Division of General Psychology has sent out the message below
to its members. I haven't received any similar message from other divisions
that I am a member of -- I have expected Division 2 or the Society for the
Teaching of Psychology to send out a similar message given how many
colleges and universities have been affected but none so far. Perhaps
they and others have more important things to do.

Subject: [DIV1ANNOUNCE] Hurricane Sandy
To: [email protected]

Many of our Society’s members have been affected by Hurricane Sandy
as it traveled off the East coast, and especially after it turned and made
landfall in New Jersey and subsequently traveled hundreds of miles inland,
leaving destruction, serious damage, and loss in its wake. Our condolences
to all those who experienced loss and were negatively impacted by the
storm.
We encourage all our Society members to reach out to those they know
in the impacted areas in order to offer whatever help and assistance they
can.
