Specifically, Pickren was at Pace University at the Manhattan campus
which is located across the street from NYC's city hall and a stone's
throw from the foot of the Brooklyn Bridge. Checking on the Pace
website and facebook page, the Dyson College of Arts and Sciences
within which the psychology department is located, won't be open
until Wednesday, November 7. NYU "officially" resumed classes
today though a couple of locations might be lacking heat. CUNY
schools resumed classes on Friday, November 2, except for the
ones that were in the blackout zones (e.g., Baruch College,
Manhattan Community College, Kingsborough Community College,
and York College).

Pickren, a historian of psychology, was chair of the psych dept at
Pace until moving to Ithaca College. Florence Denmark is now the
interim chair (Trivia note: Florence was faculty adviser to the Psi
Chi chapter to which I was treasurer as an undergraduate).

Anyway, yes, it was a nice gesture by Pickren and the division.

Still haven't heard anything from any other division and the APA
website doesn't even mention Hurricane Sandy.
