Hi Annette-

Your frustration is exactly the reason that we got a netbook instead of a
tablet. I don't think that it matters whether you try screen typing on an Ipad
or an Android or Windows tablet. I've found them all to be a frustrating
experience. In addition, I like having the ability to directly plug in USB and
SD cards. Right now we are finishing up a vacation in Spain and it has been
easy to transfer pictures from the cameras to the netbook. Add in the plus that
I can use all of my familiar Windows software and I can't imagine going to a
tablet of any kind.

-Don.

I am very frustrated with my ipad for many reasons but as to the comment below,
I finally turned off spell check. It was relatively easy to do someplace in
settings. I can't remember exactly where I found it but if I could find it,
anyone can, as I am an ipad moron. I prefer my letter transpositions to going
back and being completely unable to reconstruct my thoughts from the bizarre
changes that spell check was making. I recently used it to take notes on APS
talks--the app was really use-able. But using the flat keyboard was a challenge.

Now I am slightly less frustrated using my ipad.

While on this topic...does anyone have a DOS based tablet? Any comparisons? I
suspect similar problems in terms of keyboard use unless you buy an external
keyboard, which somewhat, for me, negates the value of the ipad/tablet. By the
time you buy the device AND the keyboard you might as well get a small laptop
and have the increased functionality.
