Despite he waxing and waning of Juror B29 of the George Zimmerman trial, there is experimental evidence to shadow her predicament. We should look no further than the Milgram and the Solomon Asch experimental designs.Milgram's study could be viewed as Conformity by obedience and Asch's as conformity by agreement. It shoul be noted that in both of those paradigms, the real independent variables are the reasons subjects gave for the decision made.Juror B29,however,had reasons more in tune with the instructions than her conscience. In a re-creation of a Milgram experiment,Rosenhahn (Chris Green favorite field researcher) was a moderator and when subjects appeared hesitant to administer shock,he told those subjects that they had to continue with the experiment.Perhaps juror B29 felt the same way. michael --- You are currently subscribed to tips as: [email protected].
