You know, if you checked the Mail Archive's "date listing" of
posts, you might find that your posts actually have made it; see:

Presumably you'll see a green bar at the top and your message
near the top.
Notice, if you use the "threaded" version, there's a gray bar on top
and, for some reason, your posts do not appear:
http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/index.html
If you do a search of the archive by "Richard Hake" and sort the
results by date, you will see all the message you've sent, including
the last three:

You might consider contacting the folks at Mail Archive about
this. You can also consider alternative ways of checking to see
if your message was posted.
re Psychology: Perhaps when we cover Gestalt approaches to
problem solving we can use this as an example of "functional fixedness".
