The Department of Psychology at Dickinson College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Developmental Psychology beginning Fall 2016. Area of specialty is open. The successful candidate will teach psychology courses in human development: Introduction to Developmental Psychology (across the lifespan), Research Methods in Developmental Psychology, and Seminar in Developmental Psychology (in the candidate’s area of expertise). The candidate will also teach, on a rotating basis with other psychology faculty, Analysis of Psychological Data (statistics) and a First Year Seminar. Teaching load is five courses per year. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology (or a closely related field) by the time of the appointment. We expect a strong commitment to teaching in a liberal arts environment and the ability to involve undergraduates in research. Our largest classes have a capacity of 35 students. The ability to create inclusive learning environments for an increasingly diverse student body will be an important characteristic of the successful candidate. Dickinson College is a highly selective four-year, independent liberal arts college with 2300 students. It is located 20 minutes west of Harrisburg, PA, and is a two-hour drive from Baltimore, Washington DC, and Philadelphia.
