Ken *Kulynych/Cline Distinguished Professorship in Psychology*** *Appalachian State University*** The Department of Psychology at Appalachian State University invites applications for a 1-3 year appointment at the rank of Professor beginning in August, 2016. We seek a distinguished visiting scholar to enrich our department through consultation and collaboration on topics of interest to our current faculty. __ _Required qualifications include all of the following_: · PhD degree in Psychology (area open) · Documented excellence in teaching undergraduate or graduate psychology courses · Documented excellence in scholarship in at least one area of psychological research __ _Desired qualifications include one or both of the following:_ · Research or applied interests aligned with one or more members of the faculty · Documented expertise in teaching theory and methodology The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the graduate and undergraduate curriculum, to teach one course per semester in an area related to his or her field of expertise, to collaborate with faculty in scholarly activities that support the mission of the Department of Psychology, and to develop a colloquium series featuring prominent scholars. Appalachian State University is a member institution of the sixteen-campus University of North Carolina. Located in Boone, North Carolina, the University has approximately 17,500 students, primarily in bachelor's and master's programs in both liberal arts and applied fields. Appalachian has a traditional residential campus and a variety of distance education programs. The department has 36 full-time faculty members (34 doctoral, 32 tenure-track) with graduate programs in Clinical, Experimental, Industrial-Organizational and Human Resource Management, and School Psychology. There are approximately 900 undergraduate majors and 84 full-time graduate students.
