The recievers will be independent of one another. If they each have two lines, they each will get two channels. I currently have two Directv dual-tuners operating in my house in seperate rooms. Meaning I can record four shows at the same time and, can watch --assuming there are two people doing the watching -- a third show on eac h reciever if it is on the NOw jPlaying Lixst. Enjoy!
