Nope. Still having the same issue. Is this a dying machine or a symptom
of another issue? One of the 2 tuners is dead, so I have it set up only
to go to Sat 1. The status says that Sat 2 is not enabled. What would
cause the long delays from entering a channel number to it actually taking
effect?

Re: [TiVo Central] HDVR2 About to Fail?

I, too, am having issues with one of my HDVR2s. When my wife would try
and change the channel using the numbers, nothing would happen for 30-45
seconds then the numbers would get entered. Trying to go to Now Playing,
would present an empty screen with the smoke and DirecTV whisping across
the screen then about a minute later, some of the programs would come on
then a little later, the rest would appear. Last night, I cleared and
erased the entire contents and started from scratch. The process took a
lot longer than the hour it said it was going to take. It was pretty
responsive this morning when I was setting up, so I will have to see what
happens in the next couple of days. This only started happening after I
got the 6.2 download.

[TiVo Central] HDVR2 About to Fail?

Hello, all....

I have a Hughes HDVR2 (DirecTV), and it's acting funny, in a way that
makes me suspect that it's about to die from a catastrophic HD
failure. (Just speculation.)

What's happening is this: It just freezes up. Both in Live and
during playback of recorded programs. If you try to skip ahead, it
just sits there, and then comes back in, usually with some bizarre
pixelation. There doesn't appear to be any loss of programming, it
just sticks.

No problems with weather or satellite strength.

Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this, any potential
fixes, or suggestions? Tried rebooting and all the basic stuff, but
to no avail. Guidance would be much appreciated.

Thanks......

-Gary.
