Curious -- I switched from cable to DirecTV because I lost cable
during storms. I've never lost DirecTV for more than a minute or two,
but I would lose Comcast for an hour or more.
And I personally have found DirecTV's service to be top notch. My
plan is to nurse my current DirecTivo along until it's no longer
supported.

    Sag.

TV. I switched from DirecTV to cable because of this. Mine was
always going out during storms which is when I needed my TV most so I
could see what was going on with the storms. :) Note too that Tivo's
support is so much better than dealing with Direct TV. When I had a
direct TV Tivo and it died they told me I had to buy a new one plus a
NEW lifetime subscription because it follows the box not the
subscriber. What a crock! When I had a hard drive die in my regular
Tivo, Tivo had me ship mine to them and they shipped me a refurb and
transferred my lifetime subscription over so weigh the pro's and con's
before you make a switch.
