Stuart-
Ed and IGGY should like this program. I just downloaded and installed the
TiVoPlayList program you referenced. Your TiVo box must be at 7.x. It
works great; but your TiVo must be on a network you can reach with a PC.
You'll need to know the TiVo units IP address, Media Access Key (MAK) for
your TiVo account [it's different from the MAC address of the USB adapter],
and the size of the hard drive. You choose the value you want to use [see
below]. If it's left at the default of zero, you won't know how much space
is left but it will still show all your programs --- even the one currently
being recorded. The program sorts the list any number of ways, allows it to
be exported as a CSV to a spreadsheet, and summarizes the results
graphically in a pie chart. It worked for all of my TiVo units. I'm more
comfortable now knowing what space I've used up and how much is left. TiVo
is missing the boat by not having something very basic in their OS with
hours or space used and the amount left.
The author's notes recommend the following disk drive values:
40 hr - 29.3 GB
80 hr - 58.6 GB
140 hr - 102.5 GB
Upgrade - actual HDD size minus about 5 GB for system overhead.
