I just received the "refurbished" model, and I am setting it up as I
type this. Tivo did transfer the lifetime service, as far as I was
able to tell by logging into Tivo central, and checking under "manage
my account". Thanks for all suggestions! I'll see how long this one
will last...7 months just doesn't seem right!!
