I heard they are raising their prices, but I don't know the answer to your other questions, but I can tell you this: When I got a second DirecTv receiver I called to cancel my standalone subscription. They BEGGED me to keep it, offering me a lower price and a couple of months free so I would reconsider. I kept turning down their offers and they kept increasing their offer. It might be worth a try. Newsweek lied. People died. Bush spied, terrorists died.
