The full details of what features will be supported are up to Comcast. TiVo is prepared to support the full feature set, but, as with DirecTV, it isn't up to them. Comcast has indicated that at least some of the network-based features will be supported, but not precisely which. > They are also having many problems in converting over > and that's why its been talked about for a couple years The original timeframe was late-2006 for the first rollout. TiVo had working prototype software at CES2006 in January, which they showed to other cable MSOs - based on that software, Cox also signed a deal with TiVo. >From what I've heard, most of the issues haven't been with the TiVo software directly, but integrating new features into it - Video On Demand, PPV, etc. As well as integrating it into the existing Comcast head-end systems, and allowing it to be pushed out as a field update to hardware already in homes. That's all new work, and it needs to work with disparate systems for different Comcast franchises. The software is working *now*, it is in the field in a few locations for field trials. Public statements from Comcast and TiVo indicate Comcast is happy with the state of the software at this point, though there will probably be changes based on the field trials. The first public deployments are planned for early 2007. We'll probably hear more at CES2007 in a couple of weeks. -MZ -- <URL:mailto:megazoneatmegazone.org> Gweep, Discordian, Author, Engineer, me.
