OK gang, maybe someone can offer some advice. I recently moved to a new place where I have "basic cable" (i.e...NO Cable Box).
Typically, I just plug the TV into the cable outlet and use the TV's channel selector to get the basic cable channels. Now I am installing my Series 2 Tivo from my old apartment (where I DID have a Cable Box.) I looked at the diagram for the tivo setup for "If you are setting up your DVR with: An antenna or cable without a cable box" http://customersupport.tivo.com/LaunchContent.aspx?cid=dcadf995-410e-407a-8e33-65a0ed6a14fa&anchor=undefined The Tivo menu does show up on channel 3 on my TV... What I don't understand is...How is the Tivo going to record from diferent channels? If the cable goes from the wall to the tivo box.....How does the the Tivo know and change the channels? There is no tuner in the series 2 box, right? The tivo box doesn't know which channel it is recording, right? Second, how do I "watch live TV" with Tivo coming in on the TV's channel 3? While I am a little technically oriented, I can't figure out how the setup diagram on the link above would work. Thanks for any light you can shed on this... David
