Hi All, I have several TiVos. One is a 40 hour Humax which is a combo DVD recorder and burner. We also have it connected to the VCR because I have old VHS tapes that I need to transfer to DVD. The way we have everything hooked up works fine. Last night I first had trouble saving a program to a DVD and when I reset the machine it is now stuck on the welcome screen. I understand it might be a dead hard drive. Called Humax and the techie had us disconnect the power and then also do a "kick start" which involved hitting pause and then the number 57 and then waiting 3 hours. So far nothing has worked. Looks like I need a new one.
I understand that the Humax is no longer being manufactured? I did find a company online called Weaknees. Has anyone heard of them? It looks like they do sell the Humax which can be upgraded to 80 hours. Does anyone know about this company? Would they be a good source to replace my Humax? Thanks! Kathy
