I picked up my Cablecards at the local Comcast store yesterday. The
personnel there obviously didn't know there were two kinds of cards and
insisted I needed two, even though the cards were clearly labeled as
"M-cards."

I came home, followed the instructions in my TiVo-HD manual, installing only
ONE of the two cards of course). Unfortunately, after I completed all the
steps and called the Comcast tech support for activation (they were certain
they'd done what's needed to activate the card), all I can receive is basic
cable and non-premium HD (network channels and HBO). Not even the expanded
basic stuff like ESPN shows up. I've done the Guided Setup, and I know that
signal comes to my house, because I could see HBO, ESPN, etc., when I used
Comcast's cable box instead of my TiVo.

Comcast is sending a tech out this afternoon. I'm nervous about their visit,
because my sense is they don't really have much experience here (the
telephone tech support had me pull out and re-seat the Cablecard when I
called to report my trouble, something I've read shouldn't be done).

I've read the support pages at tivo.com that review using the cablecard
setup, diagnostics, and pairing menus. My card is paired, it's receiving
signal, etc. My guess is that the card just isn't ACTIVATED properly to
receive encrypted content.

Any ideas other things I can try myself? One option will be to just try the
other Cablecard. I've verified that NEITHER tuner in the TiVo can decode the
encrypted content presently.
