The simple answer is 'yes'. Optical is always going to be better than stereo L/R. But the more complex answer is - it depends. If you're using HDMI and that is connected to a system that supports surround sound, then there is no need to use optical - OR stereo. In my case I have my S3 connected to my TV via HDMI. My receiver is old enough not to support HDMI, so I have an optical audio *OUT* from my TV to my reciever for surround. My TV will bypass the audio to the receiver when so configured. This also allows me to connect my PS3 to the second HDMI in on the TV for gaming and Blu-ray in surround. -MZ -- megazone-at-megazone.org http://www.MegaZone.org/ Gweep, Geek, Human, me. http://www.TiVoLovers.com/ http://www.Eyrie-Productions.com/ -><- Hail Eris "A little nonsense now and then, is relished by the wisest men" 508-852-2171
