I'm wondering if I should use an optical audio out cable to connect my TiVo HD DVR to my Bose Lifestyle 35 surround sound system. The Bose system uses 5 channels plus subwoofer; some newer systems apparently support a 6th "center" surround channel, but mine does not.
The information in the TiVo HD DVR manual talks about using this optical out cable to get surround sound if the source is Dolby Digital. Will I get surround sound from broadcast HD using my Lifestyle 35 system if I use the optical audio connection from the DVR to the Bose control unit? Thanks so much, Jim Robertson --
