I've had a TiVo-HD DVR for two months. This week I wanted to record all
episodes of the bicycle race (Tour of California). Two oddities, one much
worse than the other:

When I created a wishlist for sports/bicycle, it found the episodes on
Versus, but there's duplicate HD broadcasts on the "golf-HD" channel. Those
didn't show up in the wishlist.

The more ominous problem occurred twice: I'd try to begin watching a
recording while it was still being made. When I clicked the "play" button on
the remote, it would show that the recording was "stuck" at zero elapsed
time. If I toggled the TiVo to "live TV" it would tell me that the program
was being recorded, but it still showed a blank black screen and the record
progress bar stuck at zero elapsed time.

If I asked the remote to select the HD "golf" channel, it would display a
few frames of video with accompanying audio, then freeze an image on the
screen with no audio. Once that happened, I couldn't tune to EITHER Versus
or the Golf HD channel.

A Comcast customer service rep told me he could verify that my Cablecard was
receiving signal (it's the new card type that can do mulistream). He
suggested I reboot the TiVo by unplugging it, then plugging it in again.
When I did so, the DVR went through all the stuff I saw when I plugged it in
the first time, but when it was done I could see and record Versus again.

Any idea whether this is a known issue with the TiVo HD DVR (the less
expensive "Series 3" version available now), or is it more likely a problem
with the broadcast?

The problem happened again today, the unit having recorded 3 stages of the
race without difficulty in the interim.
