All HDTVs I'm aware of still have composite video (RCA) and usually
S-Video input, and all TiVo's have those outputs. Your best option is
to use S-Video, as that's the highest quality output on a non-HD
TiVo. (Unless you have a DVD/TiVo combo - then use composite video,
the three-connector cables.)

However, an HDTV is going to highlight the fact that the old TiVo is
SD. The best possibly results would be using 'Best' quality recording
to get the best possible picture out of the TiVo. But it may not look
as good on an HDTV due to the high resolution of the display. The
size of the display will also matter a lot - the larger the display,
the more noticeable any artifacts will be.

But, all that said, I would not run out and buy a TiVo HD. Get the
HDTV first, then try your existing TiVo. If it is acceptable to you -
you're set. If not, well, then you can upgrade to a TiVo HD.

The point is that it is all subjective, and some people will be happy
with their SD TiVo. Or maybe you just live with it for a while until
you pay off the HDTV, and make the TiVo HD the next big purchase. You
don't have to do them both at the same time.
