I am considering buying a TiVo HD or Series 3 box to replace an existing Comcast HD DVR and Replay DVR. The Replay has just quit and is not HD anyway and I really dislike the Comcast unit's format.
I have three questions I haven't been able to find the answer to. (1) I have an Anthem AVM series preamp. The on/off and volume up/down has always been a problem coding to a generic learning remote. Does anyone know if the TiVo remote can learn Anthem's codes? (2) I have an existing wireless bridge already. Can I use this instead of the USB one sold by TiVo. I will have only one TiVo for some time. (3) Is it better to buy the HD box and add the external hard drive, or should I buy the Series 3 from the start? Thanks for any info you can give me.
